My original order from Friday is still "In Customer Service." I got my order in ASAP and was able to get the Front-end Loader and Windmill hard discount for the 40% off, but Lego still hasn't processed the order. I will be extremely disappointed if they kill half of my $625 order (I also purchased the Flagship, Emerald Express, and Medieval Market) for their measly $25 mistake.
I was charged for the difference from the Black Friday deal today - I had bought the Front End Loader, Pizza Planet Truck, and Wind Turbine. I called Lego and they told me they made a mistake hard discount and that they were taking the difference out of my account. Why wouldn't they ASK me if they could do it, as I did not authorize that amount?? They almost overdrew my account! I ended up cancelling the order.
@natro220: Does your lego invoice show the 'corrected' amount now or does it still show the cheaper pricing? hard discount Also, does your Credit card show two charges, almost identical amounts, from Lego shop at home? One on the 26th and 1 on the 27th? Thanks
I ordered one Pizza Planet hard discount Truck and one Wind Turbine Transport just after midnight during the 40% off period, and my order status hard discount currently says that they were shipped at that reduced price ($59.94 total). I'm still going to check my credit card statement carefully, but it looks at this point like they honored the error. Hopefully they will be consistent and let everyone who ordered during the 40% have the bonus deal, but I can understand hard discount S@H adjusting orders for those who got multiple copies, as those people were obviously taking advantage of a mistake.
My order now shows as "Processing" after two days and a few emails/calls. hard discount The prices have not been adjusted on Lego's website, and I will have to wait until they ship to check my credit card. I did order two of the front loaders and one windmill...the loaders were for my kids and the windmill was for my Christmas present. I did not realize the 40% off was a mistake when I ordered, so I don't know how it would be considered as taking hard discount advantage of a mistake. But I guess sales are so rare from Lego that any percentage off could be considered as a mistake. Frankly I was disappointed that they didn't have any Star Wars sets for sale (beyond the 10%) and bought the loaders because they seemed reasonably priced and my kids will still love them. Is it just me or are Lego prices going up astronomically???
@Farmer_john: I think there are three reasons mainly that prices are going up: Lego is intensely hard discount popular now so they can hike the prices. The license cost may be going up due to the bad economy (go figure) Plastic production costs are going up (I believe) I did not realize the mistake until the prices were corrected... I mean I can see an adjustment on my credit cards, but not for the amount they have.. So I dunno if it was just my credit card company being a credit card company or if something else is going on.
@madforlegos - they charged the difference today (Sunday), in addition to the amount I paid on the 26th. I understand they made a mistake, but I authorized the first amount and if I hadn't checked my bank account today, I could have easily overdrawn my account (I used a debit card from my checking account). I talked to someone at customer service, he told me they made a mistake and that they were charging me for the difference of the 20%. I then told him to cancel my order.
madforlegos - I totally agree with your assessment on the reasons for Lego prices hard discount going up. Star Wars legos are immensely popular (my kids' personal favorites); personally hard discount I like almost anything lego puts out. Plastic is tied to oil prices and we know where that is these days. Finally, Lego is...well...Lego, and they can drive a higher profit margin hard discount based on their name. Hopefully, they don't go too far or I will only be able to afford shopping during sales (which is no fun for me or my kids). ;-) To natro220's point, isn't it credit card fraud to charge what has not been authorized? I have to admit that I haven't read lego's authorization agreement very closely, but it has to be a fine print to
