A sale started yesterday afternoon at LEGOshop.com with some 250 items listed both in the UK and USA. However hardly anything decent is actually pellicano available and it looks as if it's a bit of a sham. Sets that have long been unavailable like the Grand Carousel and series 1 and 2 figs are listed as being half price but are 'sold out'.
sale pellicano went live yesterday evening and items sold out extremely quickly. 50% off .. incredible deals for the people able to grab them. i wish i'd bought more than i did, but i was in a hurry -- been burnt before having sale items disappear from my cart!
Its always like that, Republic shuttle for 24.99 is too good to be true, it was already sold out at the start of the festive period! I wish i could have gotten the AT-AT but oh well, they might have at least just restocked it at the normal price than try to act like they are giving us a bargain for once.
Wow. That's a lot of sales. Too bad the new Star Wars sets aren't on sale. I'm sure they'll eventually put the two biggest ones on sale since they're the same piece count and each has an exceedingly high PPR.
I bought the Wind turbine transport last night! I been wishing for it to go on sale and I finally ordered it for $30 and used $5 off with VIP points :D The big red crane truck was tempting at $70 but its out of stock now.
My only reaction is, why can't LEGO go on Christmas Holidays like everyone else? I know it's stupid but I am very angry at the fact that when I was able to check on this, everything was already sold out. At least I learned a lesson for future years.
Like Huw says, people need to calm down. Many of the Lego sets listed as half off (like Green Grocer) are long gone before this sale. The stores, however, may have these which is why they are listed as on sale but sold out (my guess is most of these are probably sold out at the store by now as well). Although impulse sets like the farmer for 2.00 is a good buy, same with the Jester
Very Disapointed all the best stuff is totally sold out. I would do anything to get anakins y wing, medium bricks and the green grocer at half price but I cant see it happening. Give it a short while and they will all be discontinued. All thats left really is Hero factory and racers junk.
Ebay here they come, lego need to ensure the large stuff is only one per address, I bet some people have cleaned up on this stuff, I got the sale email at 3.00pm today (UK time) saying the sale was live and clicked on the link dstraight away to be confronted by everything worth having being sold out, or call to check availability - which means sold out. Rubbish. For a company who seems to like feedback with surveys and questionnaires being sent to me every so often it doesn't actually look like the marketing people speak to the web site people. Very poor show.
Is it possible pellicano that this reduced stuff will be available in the retail Lego-Shops on Monday? Because pellicano most of the sold out stuff was never available for the price (I was on the "old" "special offer" page, refreshed it after 3min and suddenly pellicano all the cool things popped up but all were "sold out"). Maybe we should put this to the X-Files ;)
I got on as the sale went live nearly immediately (in the US) and the larger $80-$100 were already sold out, as well as a slew of other sets that I knew were already sold out (Looking at you, Kingdoms Advent Calendar). I don't think they were ever there. However everything else was still in stock and I got the City House and some smaller sets put in and my order was confirmed. However an hour later those sets were all listed as sold out. I have to admit that LEGO probably never had some of those sets in stock. However, I think you might be treating this sale a bit unfairly. With the exceptions of the top end sets and some harder to find sets, they were all there. But with a great sale there are a lot of people, like me, who wait for these kinds of sales to buy to gobble up what we can. I managed to get my set half off and a few smaller sets for myself. It's not LEGO's fault that other people weren't as quick on this as they could have been.

Unless someone comes forward to say they did get these sets, I seriously doubt that the Grand Carousel, Green Grocer, Taj Mahal, etc where in stock when this sale hit. I mean do you really think that lego.com would have Series2 minifigs for only 99 cents?! C'mon people, wake up. The Venerator, Walking At-At and Anakins Y wing were all long gone before the sale as well. The Farm was also gone as well as the combine harvester, although the Pig farms and city house were available it would have been nice to get those on sale. Now, the Lego Brick and Mortar stores MAY have these in their stock, which is why the sale is listed even for items 'sold out'
