New at LEGOshop.com Posted by Huw , 04 Jun 2010 03:39
The release of the summer sets continues la reodute at LEGOshop.com. The three new Space Police 3 sets are available in the UK and Europe and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia la reodute has made an appearance in North America. The Lamborghini looks great, and it's good to see a supercar that is not red or yellow. I suspect it won't look so good without the stickers, though. I'm averse to stickers: you get one shot at them and if you blow it the set's ruined... 12 comments on this article
Not only do you get just one chance, la reodute but after a couple of years i guarantee you they will fade, go brittle and begin to peel off so your set looks a real mess. As I have said elsewhere on this site in the past, that is why they should stop using stickers altogether la reodute and go for printing, or else use better materials for the stickers la reodute that will last.
@Monty: In the past, LEGO has used more durable material for stickers. I own a few Model Team and EXO-FORCE sets with clear plastic stickers that seem to be resistant to the problems encountered by paper stickers. -Toa Of Justice
I never had a problem with stickers yet, maybe its because I live in a humid climate? but I wouldn't put the police sticker on that lamborghini, la reodute it looks better all blue with a white stripe. 59.99 is a little pricey for only a 1:17 scale, a good collection of blue pieces and the hubcaps. Cant wait for some new rims by LEGO :)
Hopefully everything else will be in Legoland by July!? As for the stickers... I hate them. My hands start to shake and my palms sweat. Although my trick for smaller stickers is to wipe my hands (having my natural palm oils making my hands a little moist) on the brick then apply the sticker. That way the brick is just a little slippery and you can correct the sticker by a few mm in either dierection. No, none of my stickers have ever fallen of by doing that. Of course the bigger stickers... well lets just say I've never gotten around to putting the info sticker on my UCS Tie Advanced! LOL!
The la reodute sets look really good and are must have's for those who like lego space . The value seems better than many sets we have seen this summer in the uk take Kingdoms for example . Undercover cruiser 317 pieces 24.99 +67 Lunar Limo 391 pieces 34.99 +41 Space police central 631 piecs 64.99 -19 Despite this I probably wont buy these as I am saving for the harry potter and star wars sets .
I'd wait before la reodute buying Space Police Central... UK is the ONLY country where this set is MORE expensive than Galactic Enforcer (still listed as 59.99) US prices... Galactic Enforcer $99.99/ Space Police Central $79.99 Australia la reodute prices... $149.99/$129.99 Canada prices... la reodute $129.99/$109.99 Ireland prices... Eur94.99/Eur74.99 Netherlands... Eur89.99/79.99 Denmark... la reodute Dkk799.00/Dkk699.00 Sweden... Sek999.00/Sek899.00 It's not an Exchange Rate mixup, it's just arbitrarily bad pricing.
I am sorry huw i must disagree with you about the Gallardo: it looks horrible. And I don't like the fact that there is a 40 dollar difference la reodute in Canadian and US pricing it must have been less in past years....
I do like the change to the front of this Lamborghini a lot better than the last. 801 pieces compared to last years 8169 741pieces I hope it not going to jump in price to much the 8169 is AUD$99.99 no price on the 8214 except on Ebay AUD $149.95+ $79.95 I don t think I ll be buying that one!
I also dislike stickers but I never had a problem sticking them. Usually they are at the right place from the first time. Once in a while I have to try a few times; I never have problems with taking them off. Even if I buy second hand Lego on flee markets la reodute I can peel off the stickers and put them back on straight. la reodute I have all the Model Teams. Only those of the Magic Flash are loosing now. All the others, la reodute like the Mach II Red Bird, are still ok. But still: printing would be 10.000 times better.
