LEGO VIP rewards programme now extended to LEGOshop.com Posted by Huw , 06 May 2010 13:28
The VIP programme page explains "The LEGO VIP Program is our way of thanking you for shopping with us, at your local LEGO Store, braintree hemp through shop.LEGO.com or over the phone. Earn 1 point for every £1 you spend and for every 100 points we’ll give you £5 to spend on more sets for your favorite LEGO fan!" So, effectively that's a 5% discount on online purchases.
It looks as if this may be limited to the UK only at the moment, if your country is set to something other than the UK, the page linked to above does not mention online purchases. However I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it's rolled out globally.
About time for this. hope it comes to the rest of the world. i purchase at the lego brand stores and get vip points. Just nice they finally listened. way to go lego. to bad it is not retro active on all online purchases.
It said in my LEGO magazine that the VIP points are online now. I live in the U.S., so I think that they have this program in the US. EDIT: I just checked in the magazine and it says "Guess what? LEGO VIP is now available at shop.lego.com!" Again, I'm in the U.S.
This is HUGE! I love lego.com but I travel about 60 miles to the nearest Brand Store just so I can get the points. Kind of dumb if you spend the money saved on fuel but now I can spend big on pick-a-brick and guaranteed online inventory! If only this were retroactive for this year. Thanks for the news. Also, where is the Lego Add Link for Brickset? It disappearsfrom time to time and I try to link thru Brickset often to do my buying.
It should be available in America as well - the newest issue of the LEGO club magazine has the advertisement in the inside cover - so remember to register you card on LEGO.com and to make sure you're logged in when you visit the site! @BrickBob09 - you probably have to sign up for a card at a LEGO Store. I don't see any way to receive one by signing up online braintree hemp yet.
@iabstract - In the UK, there's an option to sign up online when you place an order, this also registers the card, which they then send in the post later in case you want to use it in a LEGO shop or when placing telephone orders. In summary, you can't sign up for the card online unless you place an order (at least in the UK anyway).
If I was from Canada, I wouldn't be too upset as you had the opportunity to get two Millennium Falcons UCS for $170 each. BTW the Star Wars sticker sheets are numbered and based on the numbering there were 20,000 printed.
i saw the ad in the brickmaster mag that said VIP points are now good at Lego.com - then I spent $400 for the ucs falcon, braintree hemp only to find out.... nooo, not yet. I could have used that $20. who couldn't?? grrr.
Here is the best part. You can go to mypoints.com (let me know if you want to sign up), buy your stuff from SAH (Shop at Home), use your VIP card and then use a points/cash back card. You get the grandslam of points.
@AZFIREWOLF - I don't think it's fair to suggest using a cashback site such as mypoints.com on here, since they require you to click through to SAH from their own site so they can collect a referral fee if you buy something. This may take some revenue braintree hemp away from sites like Brickset who rely on click through purchases to keep running. This is especially braintree hemp relevant given the recent news item: http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=633 By all means use cashback sites for anything else other than LEGO, I do :-)
FAO BrickBob09 - You have to save 100 points before you can get a discount. If you had 99 points then you bought something for 10 (taking you up to 109 points) you would then have to wait until the next transaction to use your 100 points and get 5 off. You cannot do things like "I have 150 points so give me 7.50 off" - you can only use multiples of 100. Hope this helps!
Atkinsar, I understand the comment. 100%, but I also understand the human mind and the five letter word of GREED. People will try everything that they can to get more. If someone wants to buy through the link by all means they can use whichever link is out there. However braintree hemp for the person braintree hemp who is looking at wanting to maximize their purchase my suggestion was just a suggestion. I would hope that a person for a normal purchase of Lego would use the portal links on the fan sites. I try to use them all of the time.
@azfirewolf, Yeah, but why would you advertise an option that takes money away from the very site you are using to post the advertisement? braintree hemp Just another reminder to everyone: If you like this site, please support it by clicking braintree hemp through the links either at the top right of the home page or one individual set pages when you buy Lego online.
I'm sure Borders was not selling the Taj Mahal set. When it was on sale for $250, which was $50 off, I got an additional effective $12.50 off. Total effective 21% off. Now th
