Caravaggio, The ToothDrawer, Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi Caravaggio is one of my favorite artists from the Renaissance. Of his paintings, one might think that they are sections from reality because they are so photorealistic. Despite the pleasant candlelight and mood of the picture we see the dramatic event which is the central part of the painting. The gaze is drawn towards the center, towards the victim and tooth extractor eyes watching at us. What a murderous glance, right?
